Inspired by her family\u2019s original Flex Mussels outpost in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Shapiro sought to bring the authentic allure and fresh ingredients of a seaside eatery to her native New York City. Shapiro splits her time operating Flex Mussels\u2019 Upper East Side and West Village locations, while building relationships with mussel farmers on Prince Edward Island, Canada.
